Mowtown Landscaping Crew Leader
Job Summary
Columbia Future Forge is seeking a dedicated Crew Member to join our Mowtown Landscaping enterprise. The Crew Member will assist in various outdoor tasks related to groundskeeping, tree care, and lawn maintenance with a primary focus on maintaining and servicing our two landscaping partnerships. This position will also help oversee our Saturday youth landscaping crew and assist other crews as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform general landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming and edging lawns
- Work with supervisor to provide mowing, edging, weeding, fertilization, pruning, blowing and raking leaves as part of a personalized weekly maintenance to customers
- Ability to safely drive truck/van with equipment trailer attached
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools
- Perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently
- Maintain and ensure a safe work environment for the crew
- Ensure completion of the project in a timely manner within the allotted time
- Before and after pictures to be taken before leaving the site – for new sites and odd jobs
- Responsible for turning in receipts and invoices to appropriate personnel
- General preparedness includes proper attire, plenty of fluids, lunch, etc
- Ensure timecards are accurate and entered daily
- Provide great customer service and positive attitude while on job site and in the community
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License and able to be insured
- Reliable Transportation
- Previous experienced in landscaping or related field preferred but not required
- Ability to work in seasonal weather
- Work both independently and as a member of the team
- Willingness to work with youth and young adults
- Willingness to attend trainings, seminars and/or classes to stay relevant with best practices within landscaping and the green industry
- Individuals with skills and proficiency in the following are highly encouraged to apply: installation of fences, retaining wall, sprinkler systems, brick/patio laying and/or certified arborist
Job Type: Part –time
Pay: $18.00 -$21.00 depending on experience
Benefits: Sick leave

Mowtown Teen Lawn Care was formed in 2015 to create opportunities for local teens to gain real-life job experience while still in school.
In early winter 2018, Mowtown came under the umbrella of the Columbia Future Forge, a nonprofit focused on mentoring programs for teenagers that prepare them for real-world situations
All net profit generated by Mowtown is reinvested back into teen job preparation programs and services.
