Space Planner, Facilities Operations, Vancouver Campus
The Opportunity

As a Space Planner you will oversee the campus space request process and collaborate with Finance and Operations, Facilities, IT, and academic units to plan and implement efficient space solutions. This includes developing CAD-based layouts for office setups and remodels, advising on furniture selection, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and space standards. You will also serve as a technical resource, supporting space allocation decisions and recommending improvements to maximize efficiency.
Additionally, you will maintain accurate space inventories, archives, and campus maps, including transitioning materials to GIS formats. You will also support annual space surveys, coordinate with the university archivist, and post essential systemwide information such as evacuation maps. Through committee work and strategic analysis, you will play a critical role in shaping a responsive, well-utilized campus environment.
Percentage Breakdown of Job Functions:
65% Support the usage of campus space and resources
20% Perform space audits and other report development and compilation. Maintain campus space data
10% Facilitate classroom and teaching lab space utilization
5% Other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
This position works on-site on the WSU Vancouver campus. The position will be primarily on-campus and may have limited remote work opportunities after 6 months, requiring supervisor approval.
Monthly Salary: $4,740 to $5,643 | Range 53, Steps A to H | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications
Four years of college training with a major in a related field AND two years’ experience in space analyst or related work. Additional applicable work experience may substitute year-for-year for required education.
Preferred Qualifications
Related work in higher educational institution or similar.
