Join WSU Vancouver and Texas state Rep. Mary Gonzalez for her keynote speech ''Identity, Culture and Social Justice: How tortillas and rainbows taught me to change the world.'' As a member of the Latin and LGBTQ communities, Gonzalez will share insights about her personal identities and what inspires her to be a leader and advocate for social justice. Gonzalez has worked at the National Hispanic Institute and as Assistant Dean for Student Multicultural Affairs at Southwestern University and was recognized as one of the 10 newly-elected politicians to watch by NBC Latino. Alongside helping classrooms, organizations and companies embrace and understand diversity, Gonzalez currently serves on the Board of Directors for allgo, Texas' state-wide Queer People of Color organization. This event is free and open to all. Located in the Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110.
