Description

To celebrate the 76th anniversary of the 1938 radio broadcast of ''War of the Worlds,'' Willamette Radio Workshop will re-enact the broadcast live in front of an audience at Kiggins Theatre in downtown Vancouver. This event is free and open to the public. The re-enactment is part of ''Radio Re-Imagined,'' a collaboration between Washington State University Vancouver's CMDC program, Willamette Radio Workshop, and the Kiggins Theatre. ''War of the Worlds'' was originally broadcast Oct. 30, 1938 by Orson Welles and the Mercury Theater. The plot focuses on the conflict between earth and an invading extraterrestrial race.
