Clark County Bulldogs, our Clark County Special Olympics Powerlifting team is putting on a powerlifting exhibition starring: Doug "Speedy" McPherson Aaron "Lil' Sumo" Cook Jeff "Tiny" Hogland They have been working VERY hard to prepare for the upcoming WA State Championship, but the meet is up at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, they know that most of their fans will not be able to make it, so they would like to show you how hard they have been working. This is Speedy's 2nd year and he has come a long ways, he received 3 gold medals last year and this year, he is attempting new personal best records. This year is Lil' Sumo's first year, as a matter of fact, this is his first Special Olympic sport. He has been working VERY hard on getting the techniques down. His mom told me that he is now telling her to "be focused", which apparently has always been a problem for him. She can't believe the difference Special Olympics has made in helping him focus. Tiny is quite a gentle giant. This is his 2nd year on the team, at his first meet ever he lifted so much weight that he beat second place by over 80 pounds. Please come and support these 3 amazing young men and Special Olympics. We will answer all your questions about powerlifting.
