McCALLISTER VILLAGE GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION Sponsored by USBank and TEAM Construction Thursday, May 19th at 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, May 19th Affordable Community Environment's opens its doors for a Grand Opening celebration of its new affordable housing apartment community in Vancouver. McCallister Village is a 48-units mixed-use rental apartment community located at 2155 West Firestone Lane just north of the Fruit Valley Elementary School of Fruit Valley Road in West Vancouver. McCallister Village is named for long-time community leaders Lee and Karen McCallister. The development is the culmination of over four years of planning and design with community partners, local funders of affordable housing, and the Fruit Valley neighborhood. A key component of the development is the Firestone Community Room, named after Merrill and Doris Firestone who have been long-time supporters of the Fruit Valley Neighborhood and who had owned the land as part of the larger Firestone Farms. Beginning in the Fall, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington will offer satellite programs at the McCallister Village's Firestone Community Room for neighborhood youth. ACE will also work with community partners to offer a wide range of programs for neighborhood residents and specifically for ACE's new residents at McCallister Village. The Grand Opening Celebration is sponsored by US Bank and TEAM Construction and open to the public. The Grand Opening will also be ACE's primary fundraiser for the year and an opportunity to honor this year's recipient of the Valeria Award. Kris Krohn will receive the Valeria Award for her longtime support of ACE as a former Board member and continued support of ACE's developmentally disabled residents through her work as a program manager at The ARC of Southwest Washington. ACE has set a goal of raising $50,000 in the month of May. Funding raised will allow ACE to continue to plan and develop new affordable rental housing
