Carl Talton, CEO of Portland Family of Funds, will speak at the fall 2010 MBA Social Issues in Business Speaker Series at Washington State University Vancouver. Talton will discuss how Portland Family of Funds creates opportunities for profitable investments while enhancing social and environmental issues in his presentation, "Socially Responsible Investing: Integrating Investors, Creditors, Community and Values." The lecture takes place at 7 p.m. Dec. 7, in the Undergraduate Classroom building, room 1. Talton has served as an executive with both Portland General Electric and Pacific Power, is a former chairman of the Portland Development Commission and currently serves as a commissioner with the Oregon Economic and Community Development Commission. WSU Vancouver's MBA Social Issues in Business Series brings business leaders to campus once a semester to highlight and discuss corporate social responsibility efforts with faculty, students and community members. The Social Issues in Business Speaker Series is free and open to the public. WSU Vancouver is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave east of the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205. Parking is free after 6:30 p.m. for this event.
