Description
Workshop #7
HOW CAN I INCREASE MY IMPACT AT WORK?
Instructor: April Salsbury, Salsbury & Co.
Description: There are many ways to increase your impact at work and your approach to this will vary on your company's culture and norms, as well as your specific role in the company. In this workshop, explore the ways you can align your work to directly (or indirectly) add value to your organization.
Bio: A recognized leader in the business community, April Salsbury offers a unique blend of executive acumen and management experience as the Chief Executive Officer of Salsbury & Co, a business management consulting firm in Vancouver, WA. Prior to her current role, Salsbury served as CEO of MedCure, growing the organization from one location with 15 employees to seven locations, including international distribution, with 100 employees. She rigorously worked as an advocate in Oregon and Florida to create accreditation standards and successfully pass legislation that would provide oversight to an unregulated industry. Salsbury earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Marylhurst University. A lifelong Northwest native, Salsbury enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her husband and three daughters.

About the 2019 Fall Workshop Series "FOSTERING GROWTH IN THE WORKPLACE"
Most people recognize that employees are a company’s greatest asset. Their skills and motivation have a profound impact on our bottom line, yet according to a recent Gallup Poll only 30% of all U.S. workers are engaged in their positions. Even more alarming is the strikingly low percentage -- just 35% -- of U.S. managers themselves are engaged, while 51% are not engaged and 14% are actively disengaged.
What does this mean? This means there is an opportunity for every employee, supervisor, solopreneur, and leader to learn necessary skills that can foster growth and create engagement in the workplace.
If you are seeking ways to develop your employees/key leaders, grow revenues, improve your processes or increase your customer satisfaction and retention, you’ve come to the right place.
GVCC members have access to a series of workshops intended to provide skills and insight into the challenge’s businesses face today. Each workshop is designed to deliver information succinctly, with practical examples and an abundance of discussion.
