Eleven years ago Gardner students participated in a school-wide economics study. The unit culminated with a student-run market for children to apply their learning. The event was such a success, it became an annual tradition. Students become entrepreneurs for a day and help raise money for local charities that have included Bridge the Gap,Southwest Washington Humane Society, Mercy Corp and Heifer International. Last year The Gardner School students selected Alex's Lemonade Stand for Childhood Cancer as the recipient of the proceeds from the market. As a school we donated $1000! This year our students selected two charities to receive the proceeds. One with a local mission and one with a global mission. Share and Water is Life. Please visit their sites to find out more about both organizations. http://sharevancouver.org/ https://www.facebook.com/ShareVancouver http://www.waterislife.com/ https://www.facebook.com/joinwaterislife Please join us May 30th for a day of a learning, community/global awareness and fun!
