Description
While most attention gets paid to hiring and firing, it's often the evaluation process that makes the biggest difference in an organization's success. Good evaluation processes can help a good Executive Director thrive or it can help a board recognize it's time for a change. Bad evaluation process can let mediocre Executive Directors stagnate or they can fail to alert board members to serious issues until it's too late. This session includes issues of timing, involvement of staff and other stakeholders, self-evaluations, and delivering the review.  Presenter Jonathan Poisner's practice focuses on helping nonprofit organizations thrive by assisting them with strategic planning, fundraising, coalition building, and other organizational development challenges. From 1997-2009, he served as Executive Director of the Oregon League of Conservation Voters.
