With the tough economic times, wellness programs can sometimes seem like an easy item to write off as just an expensive fringe benefit. However, there are many things that wellness brings to the workplace. The importance of worksite wellness programs in driving health benefits, workplace culture, retention, and overall social responsibility will be explained in this session. Additionally, participants will learn: How to build a simple and effective wellness program Creating wellness programs doesn't have to be a complicated or expensive process. This section will talk about how to get started with the simple steps to developing a wellness program that is cost effective. How to identify resources and build partnerships for program success The best programs come from continued education, shared ideas with colleagues, and a passion to work together. This is true with wellness programs. A lot of companies can't afford to hire a team of wellness professionals. Learn the resources available to you in the area to create a shared network of resources to make the most effective wellness program. About the Presenter: Sasha Hinners is a Human Resources Specialist with the City of Longview, and a member of the newly formed Lower Columbia Wellness Committee. Sasha has grassroots experience in launching wellness programs, and is passionate about promoting employee health and well-being at work.
