Join WSU Vancouver in kicking off Disability Awareness Month with keynote speaker, Representative Cyrus Habib of the 48th District in the Washington State House of Representatives. Elected in 2012, Rep. Habib is the first blind Washington legislator in over half a century. Blind since the age of eight, Rep. Habib will speak about his personal journey through the public school system and the role we all play in creating inclusive learning environments. The evening will include light refreshments and a unique photo exhibit "Reinventing the Wheel," highlighting individuals with disabilities and the contributions they have made to society. Located in the Firstenburg Student Commons, this event is free and open to all.
