American Diabetes Association's Step Out! Walk to Stop Diabetes Battle Ground, WA - The American Diabetes Association is organizing a Walk to Stop Diabetes on Saturday, September 24th, at Battle Ground Village. Registration for the event begins at 8am and the walk starts at 9am. In 2009, the Association launched a movement to Stop Diabetes. The movement was begun to inspire and mobilize millions to take up the fight against this deadly disease. The Association has had nearly 25 local teams working to create revenue, and the fundraising will culminate with the Step Out! Walk at The Village. The participants and encouragers will be entertained by speakers and musicians. A bouncy play house, face painting, food, and raffle prizes will also be part of the day's events. There will be ''Goody Bags'' for the anticipated 500 people, with coupons and samples. ''This is a tough time financially for the small businesses of Clark County and being involved with such a great and longstanding cause can take the focus off of the current economic situation and turn it to having fun and working together to accomplish a great goal.
