SCORE Vancouver’s Introduction to QuickBooks is a simple and hands-on way to get started with the tool that over 4 million US businesses use for their accounting records and financial reporting. We’ll show you the mechanics of recording basic transactions with real world examples. More importantly, you'll learn how accounting and financial reporting are inter-related, helping you understand what is affected by each transaction. Most importantly, the class includes a personal appointment with the instructor to review your use of QuickBooks and address any questions you may have.

Many business owners get lost in the special language of accounting. When you finish this class, you’ll have a better understanding of those terms and why they are important to you and your business. Most importantly, this is a practical class, not a boring theoretical lecture about accounting. Our volunteer instructor, Ted Powell, like all SCORE volunteers, is a down-to-earth, experienced business guy. Other SCORE volunteers will be available at the class to help with computer issues and questions specific to your business. After the class, you can follow-up on your learning with SCORE’s always-free individual counseling. Copies of most classroom illustrations will be provided through a link.

Mr. Ted Powell will serve as the SCORE Course Leader for this seminar.  Ted is a graduate of Eastern Washington University and served 36 years with an International tire manufacturer in various marketing positions.  He developed sales and marketing plans as well as channels of distribution and developed dealer annual business plans while leading several sales teams in various regions in the US.
