About Us

Fun With Fiction is a community-based, volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) Nonprofit dedicated to offering comfort, escape, and relatable stories to children working through challenging circumstances.

We create moments of connection and joy with literature-focused gift packages called Book Buddies and special events driven by volunteer efforts and the generosity of donors.

Our Book Buddy packages are personalized book packages created to spark joy, comfort, and inspire a love of reading in children who need it most.

Each bundle is thoughtfully curated for each child, so every book feels like it was chosen just for them. These bundles offer kids a special experience and a chance to connect with stories tailored to their world, making reading an adventure they’ll want to return to again and again.

Fun With Fiction’s Indigenous Peoples' Day celebration with local author Belen Medina brought kids from across Vancouver together to honor and learn about Indigenous culture. The day was filled with storytime, a free book swap, hands-on crafts to teach about the importance of salmon, and delicious fry bread made by a local Indigenous woman-owned business. A beautiful celebration of community and culture!
Kiddos at the event got to meet the author, ask questions, and have their books signed.
